Newspaper by Name of The Cat’s Ear Launched Successfully!

By Emerald Mist

This very day, the first edition of The Cat’s Ear was published on www.emeraldmist01.50megs.com, to the delight of the creator.  Emeraldmist01 has long thought of publishing her own newspaper, but never had the means to do so.  Now, on this web site, she has the chance.

This newspaper will regularly link to a comic, recommended or from the list of links, provide a word of the day(I challenge thee to use it) and in the distant future, list people’s birthdays (under screen names, NO phone numbers PLEASE!), recommended readings every once in a while, My Random Thoughts, an article, and a tip of the day.  I plan to find words from the Phrontistery, an excellent obscure word site.

Of course, the price at the top of the page is bogus, how could you pay me for my hobby?  It’s just a joke to make it look professional.  Or is it?  Bwa ha ha ha!

As for the name of the paper, I just found it-literally-sitting in my lap.  You see, I own a very mean black cat who has taken it upon herself to sit in my lap at times while I work at the computer and type away…  Back to the topic, cats always seem to know what’s going on, and what better than an ear to name this paper?

Comics!!!

Today’s featured linked comic is The Order of the Stick.  I recommend reading it from start to finish.

Word of the Day

Ailurophobia-fear of cats

Those who are ailurophobic need not read this newspaper’s name.

My Random Thoughts

By emeraldmist01

Hi.  My name is emeraldmist01.  This entire article is about nothing other than my random thoughts.  Here’s a little info about me: my friend and I are co-founders and co-presidents of Random, Inc. (as we call it) where We believe in keeping things random.  Would you like to join?  We’ve got jackets!  Ok, back to the topic…I went spelunking last week in the lava fields in California.  It was awesome!!!  I never expected California to have something like that.  Anyways, I went to the Russell-Stewart cave and lead off the expedition inside, possibly due to my small size and ability to squeeze through smaller spaces.  Inside was a bat, about 5 inches long, just sleeping.  Our group had hiked all over a small area, back and forth, back and forth, looking for this one cave that’s leads down to the center of the Earth.  No joke.  I swear…or do I?  Bwa ha ha ha!  I found a volcano bomb that looks like a walnut (black) and one that looks like an egg (red).  It was pretty cool.  This one cave, it was pretty much open to light, no need for flashlights during the daytime, was HUGE and had natural stone bunk beds in the back shelter.  Cool.  It had a skylight too.  Thirty feet up, of course.  Another one, it had a central room, a side room, rocks suggesting tables, a rock wall in the side room to climb up as a sort of side door, a loft of sorts that could be directly entered from the 'door' or the back, shelf in the back room, and a not so good cave across from it in the hole that's in about 20 feet away.  It's all sheltered, like a stone cottage, and out of the wind.  it's awesome.  The wind can be blowing hard enough to knock a small, skinny person around, then down into a cave, whooshing sound gone, no wind.  Uh-oh.  Gotta go!

Tip of the Day

From Emerald Mist

Don’t try to kiss an angry naked (meaning shaved) polar bear on the stomach in a snowstorm while it's hunting seals or something.  It's not a good idea.

What will our animal mascot be?
Tell me at my blog what you think it should be, and why.  'Because I think so' 'I felt like saying that,' etc. are NOT acceptable.  I will do a report on the animal and you will win a chance to choose anything you want me to create a page about (please remember that little kids might be reading this site, keep your thoughts CLEAN.  Gross or 'dirty' ideas will not be taken, so rethink!)
